ORE CAR REPAIR SHOP – Port Hedland WA – CONSTRUCTION

2016.04.30.10.48.18 resizeScope of Works: Compressed Air Installations WA was awarded the second stage of the airline supply and installation works for a large north west WA workshop expansion. The workshop is the largest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere. Tasks included removing, relocating and installing compressed air piping. Site works included day and night shift works with up to three installers per shift, weekly JHA preparation, take 5’s & redline mark ups. Additional works included compressed air flow testing using a calibrated flow meter to measure and record the compressed air flow rate at various locations around the workshop. CAIWA were commended on their commitment to the project through to completion and for maintaining a 100% safety record during the intensive works program.

Piping: Aluminium ∅100, ∅76mm, ∅40mm, ∅25mm, ∅16.5mm.

Equipment: Isolation valves, filter regulators, automatic drains, valve tagging.

BULK GRAIN EXPORT FACILITY – Bunbury WA – DESIGN & CONSTRUCT

Bunge port

Scope of Works: Supply and install compressed air equipment and over 1,800 metres of compressed air piping for a bulk grain export facility. The compressed air system was run both above and below the grain silos with some gantry bracketed pipe runs located at over 40m above ground level. The compressed air was distributed to various pneumatic slide gates, dust extraction units and service points located throughout the plant.

Piping: Aluminium ∅63mm, ∅40mm, ∅32mm, ∅25mm, ∅6mm tubing.

Equipment: Supply & install 2 x 55kW SCR Rotary Screw air compressors with refrigerated air dryers, pre & post filtration and plumbed to a 1500 litre vertical air receiver.

LARGE WORKSHOP – Forrestdale WA – NEW BUILD

COR 15 percent

Scope of Works: Supply and install compressed air piping into two interconnected workshops with a total floor area of approximately 5000m2. A ring main system was installed in each workshop and both systems were connected with isolation valves. Thirty droppers are located throughout the workshops to provide air to various users including an assembly area, spray booth and blasting.

Piping: Aluminium ∅40mm, ∅32mm, ∅25mm.

Equipment: Supply & install one x 45kW SCR Variable Speed Drive Rotary Screw air compressor with refrigerated air dryer, pre & post filtration and a 1000 litre vertical air receiver.

METAL DRUM PROCESS LINE – Canning Vale WA – RELOCATION

VIP workshop

Scope of Works: Supply and install compressed air piping to service pneumatically operated equipment on a process line designed to manufacture metal storage drums. Approximately 350m of ∅40mm header piping was slung beneath cable tray at 6 metres above floor level. Droppers in sixteen locations were fitted with isolation valves. These were connected to feed hoses to provide compressed air to each compressed air demand point.

Piping: Aluminium ∅63mm at compressor house, ∅40mm header, ∅25mm droppers, ∅12mm flexible hoses.

Equipment: Relocate existing 132 kW and 75kw rotary screw air compressors and connect to large refrigerated air dryer and 2000 litre vertical air receiver.  By-pass valving installed at the dryer.

MANUFACTURING FACILITY – Henderson WA – DESIGN & CONSTRUCT

Matrix plant

Scope of Works: Supply and install compressed air piping throughout five buildings on a 20,000m2 site. Over 2000 metres of aluminium compressed air piping was installed into the plant which manufactures products for the Oil & Gas market. CAIWA’s scope included the hook up of air compressors, dryer & receivers in two separate compressed air houses, piping throughout the facility, across pipe bridges, crane rails and wall purlins, finally running down to tube connections for the process valves.

Piping: Aluminium ∅50mm , ∅40mm, ∅32mm, ∅25mm, ∅6mm tubing.

Equipment: Plumb two compressor houses with air compressors, refrigerated air dryers, compressed air filters, air treatment by-pass valving, air receivers and automatic condensate drains.
